Hi!

We are looking to fill a room in our apartment on Shattuck and 66th, available July 1st (possibility to move in earlier). The location is ideal: Ashby BART is 5 minutes away on foot and bus number 18 stops across the road. Berkeley Bowl and... Telegraph Ave are a 10-minute walk away. UC Berkeley, Rockridge, Elmwood, and Temescal are 10 min away by bike.

The apartment is a second-floor 3-bed, 1-bath with plenty of storage, hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, and a kitchen bar. There is a laundry room (with coin-operated washer and dryer) in the building as well as a bike rack at the back. The building is quiet and well managed and maintenance requests have always been dealt with very quickly. Only on-street parking.

The room for rent is 110 sq ft, unfurnished and has a built-in closet. Rent is $1,098 per month without utilities, which are split equally between the roommates (average is $50/person/month). The deposit is $1300.

The roommates: one (female, 30) works remotely and has lived in the apartment for one year, the other (female, 29) works in the city and has lived in the apartment for two years. We are both quite outgoing and friendly but also quite independent, and our routine will be a mix of working from home as well as from our offices. We both expect to be out of the apartment 1-2 weekends a month. 

We would like to find a roommate who is neat and with whom we can strike a good balance between independence and a good rapport in the home, making plans every now and then but also giving each other space.

We are looking for young professionals or grad students/postdocs. 
No pets (one of us is allergic) and no smoking.
