House is over 100 years old-white plaster walls, redwood trim, window frames and baseboard. Available room is 12 x 12 ft. on the 2nd floor. Unfortunately dual-occupancy or couples request can not be considered. Our focus is on completing our academic work. Thus, Overnight guests limited to occasional family members by arrangement with the owner.

Sunny middle upstairsr room is furnished with a single bed, (optional bedding, towels). carpet, blinds, curtains, chairs, desk, lamps, bookcase dresser and closet. Two windows facing south with a climbing rose bush. Front and deep back gardens with flowers, trees, many song birds and squirrels. Share of utilities is $100 monthly.. Sonic fibre optic internet is shared--approximately an additional $25 each per month managed by one of the housemates. Quiet household suitable for academic work at home. Share bathroom with 2 housemates. Issac, a mature experienced engineer moved in over 3.5 years ago, completed a Masters degree-then continued working on a Ph.D. Curtis completed a Masters degree in Engineering, moved in 2.5 years ago, is currently employed at LBNL.The current middle room occupant, Sulaiman moved in almost a year ago. He works at home finishing an Engineering Ph.D. with a focus on transportation.

North Berkeley Residential neighborhood located 2 short blocks from The Cheeseboard; 3 from the original Peet's cafe; CVS Drugs; Safeway and Andronico's super-markets; BMO bank, Barney's Hamburgers; many restaurents and clothing boutiques. On Thursdays an outdoor farmers' market sets up on Shattuck Ave.

House rules: No smoking of any kind, no vaping or drugs. Respectfully quiet after 10 pm for sleep or quiet study. Limited kitchen priveleges: Breakfast 7 - 9 am; dinner 5-9 pm and all day on weekends. A woman helper tidies the garden and pathways--occasionally vacuums inside hallway and stairs, --goes over kitchen and bathroom every 3 months.
