Furnished Room + Private Bath + Walk-in Closet in LGBTQ-Friendly Home with Stunning Views
Hello prospective housemate! Many Cal grad students and Berkeley Lab employees have lived here and loved it. (And I happen to be a Cal alumna, too!)
We have a furnished room available August 1st and are looking for a responsible, tidy, and friendly... professional to share a 4-bed/4-bath BIPOC and LGBTQ-friendly house with two adults, one small well-behaved dog, (and two bunnies that are mostly in the back of the house in my personal space).
We enjoy sharing some meals, a game night, or a television show or two but are also very busy with our own schedules. It is set up so that you would be sharing the kitchen, living room/dining area with myself and one other adult, but also have your own personal space in the original master bedroom/bath.
The pictures don't do the view justice... it's like a crow's nest view where you can see from Oakland to Richmond, straight across from the Golden Gate Bridge. Must be community-minded and friendly with dogs and kids, since we have one well-behaved dog and host our friends with kids from time to time.
Our house is a 12m drive / 20m bike / 35m walk and BART to UC Berkeley campus.
The area: We have gorgeous views spanning from Oakland to Mount Tamalpais from our sunroom in our modern house located conveniently nearby all that El Cerrito has to offer. Stroll through the neighborhood or along the Ohlone Greenway to the El Cerrito Plaza and BART. Hop on a train or the freeway to explore the greater Bay Area!
The house: • Washer/dryer, remodeled kitchen with newer appliances, garbage disposal, dishwasher, etc. • Sunny living room and dining room with a sun porch that faces the Bay • Off-street parking, plenty of street parking, and sunny backyard with fruit trees, hammocks, and a vegetable garden
The room: • Mid-size bedroom (roughly 12.3 x 11.7ft) • Awesome IKEA walk-in closet and personal bathroom with a tub (was the original primary bedroom) • Queen-size bed, bookshelf, built-in desk, TV with cable • Light-filled and has great views of the SF Bay
Rent terms: • Available August 1st, 1-year lease with option to extend longer if it's a good fit • $1300 monthly, +$100 utilities includes water, garbage, cable with HBO, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet, except PGE, which is split by house members monthly • $2600 security deposit, renter's insurance and credit check required • Non-smoking (in and outside the home)
