Gorgeous Furnished Craftsman Bungalow in Prime Location - Available Nov 15th
We are renting our charming 3-bedroom 1919 traditional Craftsman Bungalow in North Berkeley. The house has primarily been rented to visiting professors at UC Berkeley by the Term or Academic Year. The house will be available August 1st. Located in... the heart of the desirable Northbrae neighborhood within walking distance of some of the best grocery shopping and dining in the Bay Area. THE HOUSE - FurnishedA Craftsman Bungalow with original charm. All of the original built-in cabinets and shelving remains intact along with the stained wood trim, doors, and glazed pocket doors. Since our primary clientele comes from overseas, the house comes furnished with everything: just bring your luggage, buy some groceries, and move in. Unobstructed windows facing East, South, and West provide plenty of sunlight throughout the day. Outside, the grounds are beautifully landscaped with mature trees and shrubs, a rose garden, and a fully fenced-in private back yard. There is parking available in the driveway and street parking is plentiful without any permit requirement. THE ROOMSThere are three bedrooms. We have one bedroom with a queen bed, one with a double bed, and one with two twin beds. The bungalow is tastefully furnished, mostly with antiques. THE LOCATIONThe house is nearly dead center of the Northbrae neighborhood, which was ranked number 2 in American Planning Association’s “Great Places in America” for 2011 [web address removed]. It is equidistant (about 5 minutes walking) from three of the prime shopping districts in Berkeley: Gourmet Ghetto (Chez Panisse, Cheeseboard) to the South, Monterey Market and associated shops to the West, and Solano Avenue to the North. The newly-renovated North Branch Berkeley Public Library (1936) is one block West, “Bicycle Boulevard,” which connects to a network of bicycle-friendly streets throughout Berkeley is about half a block West, and the bus stop for the number 7 & 18 buses to the UC Campus and Downtown Berkeley BART station is visible from the front steps. Across from the bus stop is the start to “Terrace Walk” one of the public walking paths and steps that criss-cross the Berkeley Hills.
