We seek a group pf three scholars for our beautiful, furnished lower flat this summer. Each room has something special...one room has an ensuite plumbed vanity, and the other two have private patios. The flat has three bedrooms, a big, airy living... room, nice kitchen, on-site laundry, drawers and closets for your clothes, linens, plenty of heat, plenty of light, and high-speed Internet. Outside is a shared patio. A park with tennis and basketball courts is a few hundred feet away. Other people in this community are a chemist, a law student, a city planner, and an evolutionary biologist. We live in a friendly, quiet neighborhood with an astonishing array of amenities, including cafes, a farmers' market, a flea market, antique stores, a live theater, a metro stop, and on and on. Ecological features include Energy Star appliances, zero-VOC paint, floors made of fully-renewable and warm bamboo, fire-retardant, yet zero-VOC, insulation made of used blue jeans, a dual-flush toilet, a pauseable shower head, dual-pane windows, allergy-free convection heaters, and tankless water heaters. No pets, no smoking. Visitors to the Bay Area are welcome. There is reliable on-street parking next to the house. Nearby are BART and buses. We are one BART stop from campus, and it takes me about seven minutes between campus and here by bike.
