Quaint Furnished Private Room in Bungalow-Style Family Home

Our home is international student friendly. Although the majority of our previous renters (since 2009) have been UC Berkeley international students and scholars, we do consider native renters provided you are a good fit for our home.

We prefer to... accept year-long leases (12 months). The lease may be extended if both parties are in agreement. The unit is available for move-in starting as early as this month (July 2025).

ABOUT THE ROOM
The room for rent is large and located within a three bedroom family home. It comes furnished with a twin-size bed, bedding, desk, desk chair, dresser, bookshelf, laundry basket, small trash can, shoe rack, and a set of coat hangers. Within the rest of the house, there is one shared bathroom, a large dining room and living room for studying and relaxing, and a shared kitchen with an adjacent laundry room for all residents to share. There is a basement flat where the owner, who is a college teacher, lives that is separate from the main flat with its own bathroom and kitchen. His adult daughter and son (the rental managers) live in the main flat where the room is located.

LOCATION DETAILS
We are located within walking distance of UCB (~15 minutes), and a block away from the 52 bus line which takes you up to the main campus if you do not want to walk. We are a 14-minute walk from Downtown Berkeley Plaza and BART station, and an 11-minute walk from the North Berkeley BART station. A local grocery store, Trader Joes, is a (~7-10 minutes) walk away, as well as a local Target (~7-10 minutes).

AMENITIES
High-speed internet and utilities are included in the rent. Household supplies, such as dishwashing liquid, hand soap, toilet paper, (etc.) are also included in the rent.

HOUSE RULES
We do not allow smoking, weed, or illegal drug use in the house, and we do not appreciate heavy alcohol drinking/drunk or disorderly conduct on the premises. This is a good place for renters who are serious about their studies/academic life and want a peaceful environment to study and live.
