• The room is available August 1st with a 1-year rental agreement (rent $1090/month). It measures 10'x10' with a closet (5'x2’x8') and two large windows facing the beautiful backyard. The room is unfurnished.... The room shares a full bathroom adjacent to the laundry room.
• The security deposit is $1200.00 each for the house with full privileges of communal spaces.

About the House:
The spacious (2,100 sq. ft.) 4 bedroom, 2 bath house sits in the beautiful El Cerrito hills with large windows and amazing views of the bay. We have an in-unit washer + dryer, fiber-optic internet, dishwashing machine, garbage disposal in the kitchen sink, and central heating for the colder months. Utilities typically range $75-$150 per month per person (cost is higher in cooler months when heating is in heavier use). The house is furnished with a modern bohemian design, but there will be room for you to add to the ambiance and make yourself at home. The house has beautiful hardwood floors, a flowing, open floor plan, skylights providing tons of natural light, and vaulted ceilings. We have tons of storage space in closets around the house, a laundry room, and the basement. There is a large backyard with opportunities for gardening and fruit trees. A two car garage is also attached but unavailable for use as it is currently used for storage by the landlord. Parking is easy, as we have a driveway and plenty of free street parking. The house is located on Mira Vista Dr just north of Barrett Ave and is approximately one block from the #7 bus-line, which goes directly to several stops next to UC Berkeley's campus as well as the El Cerrito del Norte BART station.

Large, rowdy parties will generally not be welcome in the home as we are trying to keep it a quiet, comfortable space for those who live here and their close friends/partners. Animal lovers are welcome and encouraged! You would also be sharing the home with two cats and a snake.

About the roommates:
• Megan (main contact) is a seventh-year PhD student studying food webs in tidal wetlands of the San Francisco Bay. She enjoys playing video games with her cats, working on jigsaw puzzles, and playing board games with friends. On especially fun evenings, her pet snake Josie likes to join in the fun as well.
• Tosin (current lease holder) is a third-year PhD student studying textile waste solutions and circular economy transitions in the fashion industry. She enjoys being a local tourist, taking evening walks, hiking, and dancing. You may also hear her running her sewing machine as she occasionally works on fun sewing projects.

About you:
Must love animals! Clean, friendly, considerate, and share pride in our home! Must be timely with rent and able to commit to a 1-year lease beginning August. 1st. Please be respectful of shared spaces as we tend to put a lot of love and effort into furnishing and decorating them (and hopefully you help do the same). Female or genderqueer/non-binary roommates are preferred.
