Room with Private Bath in Elmwood Brown Shingle

I am renting a large fully furnished bedroom, with private bath, located on a quiet residential Elmwood street in my 100 year old "Berkeley Brown-shingle" home.

I am a little old lady and have lived in this home for 60+ years. I enjoy the... intellectual stimulation of someone living in my home; it is also good for someone of my age to have someone else here. In the past, I have rented to over 100 tenants, from all parts of the world. Many are now my friends.

The common area is just the kitchen; the other rooms are at my discretion. I have a protocol for using the kitchen. There is a small dedicated refrigerator for you. You are welcome to enjoy the wonderful garden in the back.

The house has high speed Internet; you and I will share the cost of the Internet, gas, and electric. I pay the water and garbage bills. You cannot do laundry on-site, but there is a laundromat nearby. I will provide clean linens.

My home is convenient to LBNL shuttles, the #51B and #79 bus lines; it is a 15 minute walk to the Rockridge BART and approximately a 30 minute walk to UCB. The Elmwood neighborhood is like a village with: a library, movie theatre, book stores, laundromat, bakeries, grocery stores and an abundance of restaurants.

This is a home for non-smokers. If you have a car, you will need a City Parking Permit. For bike owners, there is a secure bike tie-down in the rear garden.

The rent is $1500.00 per month. Move in costs are: 1st and last month's rent plus a $1000.00 deposit. This room is available starting 20 June 2025. I am looking for a long term tenant.
