Summer sublet | Spacious fully furnished apartment at UVA

This 2-bedroom, 1-bath apartment is in the West Village Apartments at the University Village Albany (UVA). I'm looking for a responsible tenant to take over our place during the summer while doing summer research in South America. It is the perfect... spot for commuting to/from the campus: A bus stop is very close by. Every 15 minutes, Bus 52 goes from University Village to all around the campus (it also stops at the North Berkeley Bart station, making it super easy to go to SF); you can also get line 18 inside the village and stop at downtown Berkeley.

The unit can accommodate a maximum of five people. It has wall-to-wall carpeting in the living room and bedroom, vinyl tile flooring in the kitchen, and glazed porcelain ceramic tile floors in the bathroom. All windows have horizontal louver blinds and screens. It is on the second floor and has a balcony with outdoor chairs and a table.

The kitchen features solid maple cabinetry with swanstone solid surface countertops, a stainless steel double sink, a large refrigerator with freezer, a 4-burner gas stove with oven, and a range hood with exhaust fan and light. The kitchen comes with a 6-person dining table. The bathroom has a tub and an exhaust fan, which remains on for 10-15 minutes after turning out the light to remove moisture. The living room has a super comfortable sofa-bed (that, when open, becomes a couple-size bed), a 65" flat-screen TV, and a small desk with a lamp and chair. Both bedrooms have a queen bed, with a built-in closet. There is also a study area with a desk and an office chair. A washing machine and a dryer are available in the apartment building, which requires the apt key to access it. Garbage cans are situated outside the apartment building.

The unit is ONLY available for summer (June 4 - August 20, 2024).

The rent includes utilities: Water, garbage, recycling, gas, electricity, basic cable, and internet data line are included in the rent. Since this is university property, high-speed internet is freely available, just like on the main campus. A maximum security deposit of $500 is required upon signature of the sublease contract. The tenant will be responsible for cleaning the apartment and its balcony, and returning it in perfect condition (this is our home, please take care of it).

UVA has a high cultural and international diversity, including families from 65+ countries. There are a couple of lawns and pick-nick areas with charcoal grills for outdoor gatherings, an outdoor fitness area, and a child playground. The UVA Community Center has a fitness room, a student-parent center, and an early childhood education program.
