Space:
Sunny 11.5 x 11.5 bedroom with a large closet. Open second floor apartment with great light. Quiet triplex. Backyard, raised garden beds. Balcony with a hammock that's great to sun / read on. In unit washer/dryer, dishwasher. Outside shed /... storage. A piano from previous tenant (we don't play, so you're spared, but you are welcome to play).

Location:
Convenient, blocks to Strawberry Creek park, a sweet cafe, Target and short walk to stores, grocery, library, bars and good restaurants around University and San Pablo. Nearby bus stops include 51b, 52, 72, 36 and a 15 min walk to N Berkeley BART. Close to Ohlone greenway bike/walk/run path. Plenty of street parking and a shared driveway spot.

Me:
UCB grad and current staff. Active on social justice issues. For fun, I read sci-fi, go on outdoor adventures, rock climb, work out and hit up some queer dance parties. I'm POC, queer and trans masc. Love to cook and am happy to share food and meals if we want to. I strive to be a direct and kind communicator, and have lived in many group and cooperative homes before.

Would like to create a home environment that's warm and low-key, communicative and kind. I'm a queer & trans dad who's 7 year old kid will be staying over half the time. He's very chill and easy going. We respect people doing their own things, and I’m open to a range of connection in the home, from being friendly and independent, to sharing meals, Costco runs and organically hanging out sometimes.

Home time:
My ideal unwind time at home would be reading, watching a movie or having a friend or two over for a meal or tea. On weekdays, if my kid is over, our routine would be mainly to have dinner, read and be in bed by 9pm. Don’t have any need for quiet hours on our end, he can sleep through it, just no school night ragers. We will be quiet on our end though if that's beneficial to you. On school mornings, he’s up by 8:15am and we leave the house before 9am (we get ready pretty fast! and quietly). If it’s the weekend and we're in the house, he likes to watch a show on a laptop, read, listen to audio books and play with legos. There's a small space downstairs that'll be his space when he's around.
