Two rooms in a shared home! (Shared Housing)

Hello! We are two roommates seeking to fill the third and fourth bedrooms in our house up the hill from Lake Merritt. Both rooms are $1112/month. Aside from rent, you'd be responsible for your share of utilities, which average about $100/per... person/per month.

Room 1: This is a really large room, a converted dining room (fully enclosed) with hardwood floors, built-in storage, and a beautiful, functional wood stove! It has sliding french doors that open to the front entryway and living room, and another small door that opens to the kitchen area. You would share a bathroom with two people; one of the other bedrooms has an attached bath.

Room 2: This is a smaller room at the back of the house with a private, attached bathroom (toilet, sink, shower). Windows look out onto the garden. Private and peaceful!

The house has a big living room and a kitchen with lots of counter space. We have a wonderful back yard with various fruit trees, raised garden beds, a chicken coop (no inhabitants right now, but we'd be interested in changing that once the bird flu situation calms down), a wood-fired bread oven, and some nice areas to hang out. There's an unfinished basement for storage, with a washer and dryer. The landlords are kind and responsive; this was their family home.

Direct communication and respect for boundaries are important to us. We all enjoy having people around, but also value our quiet time! Please be excited to help out around the house and yard; we do the cleaning and landscape maintenance ourselves. We also use eco-friendly house products for the common spaces, are diligent about sorting waste, that kind of thing.

Who you'd be living with:

R: 34 yo BIPOC cis woman, any pronouns. Born and raised in the Bay. Loves being outdoors, camping, biking around town, leftist activism, climbing and making art. Works part time at Kaiser, part time out of a collective art studio, and takes art classes at Laney.

M: 32 yo queer woman, white. PhD student with a variable schedule, sometimes working at home, sometimes on campus or in cafes. A sociable introvert. Loves biking, running, yoga, meditation and Buddhism, reading, playing piano (quietly, it's electric!), art, cooking, etc.
